For the last couple of months, I’ve had the urge to take a pile of these
And turn them into this.
Yep. Fresh lemonade.
I found a recipe to use as a sarting point last weekend, and with a slight change in proportions, made a batch of delicious lemonade. I made more again this morning, this time doubling the quantities, ready to take it when I went to a friend’s for lunch.
So here’s the incredients:
1 (metric) cup sugar
300ml lemon juice (6 average size lemons)
First you want to put the water and sugar in a pot over a low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Juice your lemons. Here’s a tip if you’re juicing them by hand. Zap each lemon for 10 seconds in the microwave on high first. It makes it much easier to extract all the juice.
Mix the lemon juice (with any pulp that has gathered with the juice or that you want to add) into the sugar syrup. And that’s it. Bottle and refridgerate it, then dilute it with nore water when you want to drink it (about 1 part concentrate to 2 parts water, depending on how strong you want it).
Warning. Once you’ve made this the first time, you’ll want to keep making more. It’s a delicious thirst quencher for a hot day.
